Business Development for Accountants: How to Use Technology to Automate Your Marketing

How many times have you thought that marketing more might be good for your business, but you just can’t find the time to do it? You are already busy, and you do not know how you are going to find another hour or more a day to dedicate to your accounting firm’s marketing needs. You are not alone. Many accountants, as well as those in other businesses, just can’t find the time to market properly. Of course, when you look at all of the options technology is able to provide you will see that this is no longer really the case. Technology has automated bookkeeping, payment processing, correspondence, and payroll.  Why not let it automate your marketing efforts? With the latest tech and software out there, you will be able to automate quite a bit of your marketing so you do not have to worry about it.

Automating Emails

If you have several emails that you use for your new clients and those who sign up for more information on your site, you can use software that will automatically send out emails to those clients. You can send them a welcome letter, a free e-book, or just about anything else. When they sign up at your site, the software can automatically send out the email containing whatever information you want to the client.

Automating Social Media and Blogs

If you are blogging – which you should be doing, you know that this takes time as well. Yet, it is a very important part of modern marketing. You can always come up with and write several posts well in advance of when you have to post them. Take a couple hours out of the month and write a dozen short posts. You can automate your blog to post these at different intervals, such as Mondays and Thursdays. You will not have to worry about updating your blog posts.

You will be able to do similar things with your social media sites. You can find software and online tools that will let you automate your social networking. When you post to one of your social networking sites, such as Twitter, it will also update your Facebook page. This helps to reduce the amount of time that you have to spend on the social media sites.

Even though you are automating social media and blogs, you will find that it is still a good idea to check those sites at least once a day. This lets you answer any questions that might come up in the comments and it will let you head off any negative comments that might crop up.
